01Overview

Bull Sub V2 is built to add weight to the bottom of a mix. Rather than boosting existing bass content, it generates a separate sub layer underneath the source signal, then gives you control over its frequency, resonance, drive and level. The developer, Safari Audio, created the plugin with Grammy-winning mixer Leslie Brathwaite. The V2 release adds a live spectrum display, a new Transients control and an improved sub generation algorithm.

Sound Shaping and Low-End Control

The plugin places a live spectrum display above its controls, so you can see the generated sub-harmonic content against the source signal. The Res control tunes the resonance of the generated band, and the new Transients control shapes low-end punch.

The Drive, Freq and Subs controls cover the whole low end in a few adjustments. Subs sets the amount of generated low end, from a subtle extension to a heavy bottom. Smart Gain and Link Gain help match levels while you work.

Workflow and Metering

Bull Sub V2 includes an A/B compare function and a short-term LUFS readout, so you can check level changes as you adjust the sub layer. The release also adds a new oversampling algorithm.

The V2 interface is a full redesign and includes the new preset system, so settings can be saved and recalled across sessions.
