Beat Machine 2 Upgrade from Beat Machine 1: Hip Hop Drum Machine by DopeSONIX

The developer describes the kits as covering the Hip Hop styles of the 1990s, 2000s and 2010s. The collection includes 600 kits, split into 300 stereo kits and 300 multi-out kits. The 1200+ drum samples are already EQ'd and treated for instant use.

The kits are grouped by era. Early presets draw on boom bap and dusty, sampled-style drums, while later material covers cleaner, more syncopated sounds and 808 and trap-style kits.

Because the upgrade is positioned as a companion to Beat Machine 1, it suits producers who want more range from the same workflow rather than a new instrument to learn.

Beat Machine 2 gives you separate volume and pan controls for the kick, snare, hi-hat and percussion. Pitch and drive controls are built in, along with a global high and low pass filter and an analogue-style reverb.

The output can be routed as a simple stereo mix or through more flexible sub-mix options. A 12-segment output level meter and five drum pads for touchscreen use are new in this version.

Drums can be programmed by hand or played from a MIDI or USB controller or keyboard. The library includes 50 Hip Hop MIDI drum patterns to start from.

DopeSONIX also lists two expansion packs for the plugin: The Knock 01 and Live Elements 02.
