Legato, Attacks and Sustain Options
The developer built Balvi Cello around its legato and sustain behavior. Attacks and legato sustains are triggered by velocity, with three velocity zones (0, 41 and 91) selecting the different articulations.
Beyond standard legato transitions, the instrument includes a set of fast transitions up to a major second. These are intended for runs and passages that require quicker playing speed, while the regular transitions handle more sustained melodic writing.
Because sustain options can be combined, the instrument offers a range of performance possibilities for shaping phrases.
