Analog Hybrid Drums: Analog Percussion Kontakt Instrument by Heavyocity

The library is split into three instruments that share the same sound palette. Kit Designer provides a 16-voice drum kit layout, with a browser for loading sources to each key and an independent FX chain for every voice. Compression, reverb and saturation can be added per voice.

Ensemble Designer loads more than 235 sources in octave banks or as individual sounds, and places them in 3D space using Stage Five discrete mic positions: Close, OverHead, Room, Hall and LFE. Loop Designer offers 576 loops, 144 of them with four stems, in synth and hybrid versions in straight and triplet feels. Modulation and effects can be added to each loop through a Send FX layer.

Performance is handled by a custom MIDI tool that generates patterns, rolls and crescendos, and by a redesigned Punish knob with three settings: Gently Now, Hurt Me Plenty and Nightmare.

Heavyocity says the sounds were captured from analog equipment including the Soma Pulsar-23, Metasonix R54, R53 and R51 modules, Moog Minitaur, DFAM, Mother-32 and Make Noise modules. Outboard effects named in the product description include the Sherman Filterbank II, Metasonix TX-3, Thermionic Culture Vulture and Black Box HG-2.

The library suits producers who want aggressive, character-rich percussion for heavy electronic music, as well as composers looking for cinematic textures. A customizable master FX chain is included for shaping the full mix of an instrument.
