01Overview

Ample China Dadi, or ACDD, is a sample-based instrument built on Ample Sound's Woodwind Sample Engine. It is sampled from five key-tuned dadi flutes in the keys of C, D, E, F and G, covering the traditional bamboo flute's breathy, singing tone. Articulations, Legato and Expressive Control

The instrument is organized into three articulation groups, Head, Body and FX, each occupying a full octave of the keyboard. Over 30 articulations include grace notes, vibratos, trills and dynamic legatos.

An intelligent legato system switches articulations based on velocity, and endless legato transitions are controlled in real time through keyswitches. A Creative Mirroring feature reverses articulations on the fly, which can be used for unusual phrasing and effects.

An adjustable wind layer adds breath texture to the sound, and you can tune how much of it sits in the mix.

Mic Positions, Mixing and Built-In Effects

ACDD offers five mic positions with three mix modes: Mono, Modern and Traditional. These let you move between a close, dry character and a more spacious, traditional recording sound.

The built-in effects chain includes an 8-band EQ, dual compressor, 6-tap echo and IR reverb, so you can shape the flute within the plugin without a separate processing chain.

The instrument runs as a 64-bit plugin on Windows and macOS and requires about 10 GB of hard disk space.
