01Overview

Ample Bass Yinyang is built from sampled recordings of a Fodera Yinyang 5-string electric bass. Ample Sound offers it as a complete bass instrument rather than a basic sample set, combining articulation playback, a MIDI programming engine, amp heads and cabinets, and an effects chain in one plugin. Its sample library includes both DI and microphone recordings, so you can shape the tone from clean direct sound to a miked amp sound. The instrument is aimed at producers who need realistic bass parts without recording a player.

Articulations and Playing Techniques

The plugin provides 13 articulations, including Slap, Pop, Hammer On and Tap. Polyphonic legato and a smooth slide engine handle transitions between notes, so lines can move from one note to the next without audible breaks.

Drop tuning down to B0 is supported, which covers the low registers used in heavier and experimental styles. A one-click vibrato curve generator applies vibrato across all notes, saving time on sustained parts.

MIDI Programming and Tab Tools

Riffer 4 offers a Piano Roll and a Tab view with string-aware MIDI programming, so you can write parts with fingering in mind. Advanced MIDI editing includes CC and velocity curve presets.

Tab Reader 4 imports articulation and fingering information from Guitar Pro files, which helps when you are working from transcribed bass lines. A new chord system is designed for non-strumming instruments, and swing quantization adds control over groove.

Amp, Cabinets and Effects

Three classic amp heads are available with 4 cabinets and 4 microphone models, letting you move between clean and driven tones. The built-in effects section includes an 8-band EQ, a compressor, a delay and a convolution reverb, so the bass can be finished inside the plugin.
