Sound, Articulations and Playing Features

The instrument is based on the Yamaha TRBJP2 six-string bass and includes 14 articulations. Polyphonic legato and slide smoothing are included for more lifelike phrasing, and drop tuning is supported down to A0 for an extended range.

A brand-new chord system is designed for non-strumming instruments, and one-click automatic vibrato curve generation applies to all notes. Swing quantization adds groove control for rhythmic performances.

Riffer 4 Workflow and Tone Controls

Riffer 4 is the MIDI engine behind the instrument. It provides a piano roll and tab view, full MIDI import and export, and Tab Reader 4, which opens Guitar Pro files from GP3 to GP8.

The onboard tone chain includes a virtual amp system with 3 classic amp heads and 4 cabinets. Each cabinet offers four microphone types: U87, C414, MD421 and SM57. A built-in 8-band EQ, compressor, delay and convolution reverb complete the chain. A library of bass riffs is also included.
