Sound, articulations and legato

The instrument is based on a Fender Precision Bass and includes 13 articulations, among them slap, pop and harmonics. Articulations are edited without key switches, so technique changes can be placed directly in the MIDI data.

The polyphonic legato and smooth slide engine handles connected notes, and drop tuning is supported down to B0 for heavier low-end parts.

Riffer 4 editing and the amp and FX suite

Riffer 4 offers Piano Roll and Tab views with string-aware MIDI editing. MIDI CC and velocity editors use color-coded lanes and curve presets, and one-click vibrato curve generation is available for all notes. A new chord system is designed for non-strumming instruments, and swing quantization adds groove control.

The built-in AMP and FX suite includes three amp heads, four cabinets, four mic types, plus EQ, delay, compressor and reverb. Tab Reader 4 supports Guitar Pro files, and a riff library is included.
