01Overview

Ample Bass Acoustic is built from multi-mic recordings of a Guild B-54 CE acoustic bass, captured with body, room and DI signals. The developer positions it for folk, pop, acoustic rock and cinematic scoring. The instrument covers a wide range of playing techniques, and its MIDI tools let you write and edit parts on a piano roll or in tab view. Because it is a plugin, it runs inside your DAW alongside your other tracks and can be recorded and arranged like any other instrument.

Sound Sources and Articulations

The instrument is sampled from a Guild B-54 CE acoustic bass, with separate body, room and DI signals so you can balance the natural acoustic character against a more direct sound. Thirteen articulations cover techniques including slap, tap, pop and harmonics, giving you more expressive range than a single sustained tone.

A polyphonic legato engine handles slide transitions between notes, and the instrument supports drop tuning down to B0 for lower registers.

MIDI Editing with Riffer 4 and Tab Views

Riffer 4 is the MIDI engine behind the instrument. It offers Piano Roll and Tab views and string-aware MIDI editing, so notes can be entered with string context in mind. Full MIDI import and export are included, and Tab Reader 4 supports Guitar Pro files from versions 3 to 8.

The vibrato tool generates a vibrato curve for all notes with one click, and a new chord system is designed for non-strumming instruments like bass. Swing quantization adds groove control to MIDI parts.

Amp, Mic and Effects Options

A virtual bass amp system provides 3 amp heads and 4 cabinets, and each cabinet offers four mic types: U87, C414, MD421 and SM57. Onboard effects include an 8-band EQ, a compressor, a delay and a convolution reverb, so you can shape the tone without loading external processing first.

A library of acoustic bass MIDI riffs is included for starting points when you need ideas.
