Sound Character and Preset Types

The bank is organized around the main building blocks of UK-style tracks. There are 31 bass patches, which is the largest group, along with 11 leads, 7 chords, 6 synth patches, 4 pianos, 4 plucks and 1 pad.

Resonance Sound says the basses have movement and mid-range growl, and the Reese patches are detuned to fill the spectrum and cut through busy mixes. The pack also includes stacked synth sounds and M1-style organs for textures that help tie a track together.

The pianos and chords are aimed at quick sketching, so you can lay down a harmonic idea before refining the sound.

Serum 2 Workflow and Included Material

Every preset is built in Serum 2, and the developer states that the patches are made from scratch rather than imported. Each patch has its macros and mod wheel mapped, and macro labels are included so you can adjust the sound quickly. Clip examples are embedded in the presets to show how each one is meant to be played.

The extra material includes 25 MIDI files and 51 WAV samples. The samples break down into 13 drum loops and fills, 8 drum one-shots, 8 FX and 22 synth and bass one-shots. Some sounds heard in the audio demo, such as certain drums and FX, are not part of the download.
