Tech House NI Massive X is the second release in 5Pin Media's NI Massive X preset series. It contains 100 presets for Native Instruments' Massive X synth, covering basses, leads, pads, stabs, percussion and effects. Each preset is built around macro controls, so you can shape tone and the level of applied effects from a single set of knobs. The pack is a good starting point for producers working in tech house and adjacent dance styles.

Presets Organized by Sound Type

The pack is split into six categories: 36 bass presets, 21 lead presets, 25 stab presets, 7 pad presets, 3 percussion presets and 8 effect presets. The large share of bass and stab sounds makes it especially practical for building the low end and chord hits of a tech house track.

Each preset uses macro-driven controls. Instead of editing many parameters, you can adjust the tone and the amount of effects with a few macros, which speeds up sound design and keeps the presets easy to tweak within a song.

Extras for Building a Track

The pack includes 29 WAV drum and vocal loops and one-shots, which are the same material featured in the demo track. These samples are separate from the presets, so the demo's drums and vocals are not part of the Massive X presets themselves.

The pack also includes 27 MIDI files to help you start writing melodies and patterns. Track automation options are available through the presets, giving you more ways to move sounds over time.
