01Overview

RAW GEMZ - EDM Rewind Vol.1 is a preset collection for Xfer Serum 2, built around the sound of mainstage EDM from roughly 2011 to 2016. Resonance Sound says the presets draw on bright supersaws, emotional chords, euphoric leads and punchy basses. The pack also includes 40 MIDI files and 54 WAV samples, so it covers more than patches alone. Resonance Sound lists Progressive House, Dance Pop, Big Room, Festival House, Future House and Trance as suitable genres.

03In depth

Presets for classic festival EDM sounds

The pack contains 64 Serum 2 presets split across five categories: 17 basses, 19 leads, 6 pads, 15 plucks and 7 synths. Resonance Sound says the collection includes massive lead stacks, chord progressions, lush pads, signature arps and essential textures.

The presets were created from scratch for Serum 2 by Level 8, according to the developer. Each patch includes 8 macro assignments and Mod Wheel control, plus embedded clip previews to audition sounds quickly in a project.

MIDI and WAV content for production

Beyond the presets, the pack adds 40 MIDI files and 54 WAV samples. Resonance Sound describes these as a way to speed up writing, so the pack works as a starting toolkit for building tracks rather than only a preset bank.

The presets require Serum 2, and Resonance Sound specifies a minimum version of v2.0.24 in its description. The system requirements field lists Xfer Serum 2 v2.1.4 or later, so the newer version is the safer choice.
