Orbit - Lofi Ambient Melodic is a Portatron preset pack from Robotic Bean containing 20 cassettes with matching samples. It focuses on melodic lofi and ambient loops that evolve over long durations.
Orbit - Lofi Ambient Melodic is a preset pack for Portatron, the tape-based loop instrument. It is the melodic part of a three-part ambient collection from Robotic Bean. The developer describes the sounds as dusky, dreamy and built on analog tape, stompbox effects, and modular and standalone synthesis. The pack includes 20 cassettes, each paired with matching samples, and more than 55 loop samples totaling about 375 MB. Many loops run longer than 30 seconds, which suits slow-moving background textures.
The Melodic Pack is built around musical content. According to Robotic Bean, its melodic elements were played on vintage and classic synthesizers in a relaxed style that tends to sound familiar.
The tape character comes from the lofi material itself. The developer names analog tape and stompbox effects as core ingredients, which gives the loops a warm, worn quality that works well under vocals, beats or film-style scenes.
Each of the 20 cassettes comes with matching samples, so the cassette and its audio load together as a ready-to-play setup. The pack contains more than 55 loop samples, and the developer notes a range of BPMs and keys.
The loops are long and evolving, with many running over 30 seconds. This length makes them useful as slow, continuous layers, and the pack includes a mix of loop types such as drones, sequences and atmospheres.
