Soul Provider 3 is the third volume in AKAI's MPC Expansion series, developed with MSXII Sound Design. It combines vintage sounds and dusty samples with current production techniques and presets. The kits draw on soul and hip-hop roots and cover R&B, funk, pop, jazz and progressive styles. Each kit includes a selection of samples and patterns, and the pack includes presets for the plugin suite shipped with MPC, with ready-made starting points and room to build your own textures.

Sound Character and Sample Content

The developer describes the kits as built from melodies made with classic electric piano, electric guitar, Mellotron, vintage synths and live bass. These parts are chopped and arranged so they sound like they were lifted from late-1960s and 1970s records, while the material is original.

The drum sounds are designed to hit hard, with punchy kicks and snares. Vocal chops and laser-style FX are included as accents. According to the developer, every kit was processed through vintage outboard gear, resampled and compressed for added texture and character.
