Modern String Beds is an expansion pack from developer Output that works inside Analog Strings. The collection contains 100 presets designed as beds, the sustained layers that sit under a track's harmony. The developer describes the sounds as having a modern edge with a touch of grit, combining hybrid synth textures with organic strings. The presets are aimed at producers who want to build the foundation of a track or double chord progressions with layered sound.

Sound and Character of the String Beds

Output describes the presets as hybrid synths enhanced by organic strings. The result is a blend of electronic and acoustic-style tones rather than pure orchestral strings.

The developer says the sounds carry a modern edge with a dash of grit, which places them closer to contemporary production than to traditional string libraries. Because the presets are beds, they are built to sit behind lead lines and drums rather than stand alone.

Using the Presets in Analog Strings

The expansion pack requires a fully licensed copy of Analog Strings to run. The 100 presets load into the host instrument, so the workflow is the same as any other Analog Strings patch: choose a preset, play chords or sustained notes, and adjust the sound from there.

For producers who use Kontakt-based workflows, NKS compatibility requires Kontakt 5.6.6 or later.
