Barely Vocals Expansion Pack (for EXHALE) is a preset expansion pack from Output that adds 100 presets for Notes Mode in the EXHALE vocal synthesizer.
Barely Vocals is a preset pack for EXHALE, the vocal synthesizer from Output. It contains 100 presets built for Notes Mode, where the sounds are played from the keyboard. The developer describes the sounds as heavily modified and otherworldly soundscapes that barely resemble the human voice. The pack is aimed at producers who want the EXHALE engine as a source of abstract textures and atmospheres rather than realistic vocals. Because it is an expansion for EXHALE, it works only inside that instrument.
Output says the Barely Vocals presets are heavily processed, so the original vocal origin is often hard to identify. The sounds lean toward atmospheric and experimental territory, suited to pads, drones and melodic textures.
The pack includes 100 presets for Notes Mode, so every patch is designed to respond to played notes across the keyboard. This makes it useful for melodic writing as well as for sustained background layers.
Barely Vocals is an expansion pack and needs EXHALE to run. It is not a standalone instrument.
The pack supports NKS, which requires Kontakt 5.8.1 or later. Producers who use NKS browsing in their host should check that their Kontakt version meets this requirement before installing.
