Ignition - Thermal Expansion Pack: Distortion Presets for Output Thermal

Each preset in Ignition routes two different distortion algorithms. You can use one algorithm at a time by raising a single macro knob, which lets you hear how each one behaves on its own. This is useful when you want to understand a preset's character before deciding how much of each to keep.

Blending the two algorithms is the other route. Adjusting the balance between them produces a wide range of grit and tone, from subtle coloration to heavier saturation. Output's description of the pack frames this as doubling the distortion, though the actual amount depends on the settings you choose.

The XY Control is the primary performance interface in these presets. It is designed to make the presets easy to explore quickly, which can help when auditioning sounds for a mix. Macro knobs are available as an alternative for precise, parameter-level movement.

Using the XY Control and macros together gives you two ways to move through each preset's range. For producers who want to automate distortion changes across a track, the macro controls are the more direct option.
