03In depth

Sound and Character of the Kits

The kits lean toward melodic, groove-led house. Niche Audio points to Chicago and New York house as the main reference, combined with the rawer funk of French house. The result is a warm, vibey palette meant to suggest a soulful, summery mood.

The collection covers a range of moods, from shimmering and funky grooves to deeper, dreamier textures. Because each kit is a self-contained project, you can start from a full groove or pull out single elements to build your own arrangement.

Contents and Workflow in Maschine

Each kit includes drums, chords, hits, basses, raw breaks and a wide set of one-shots. The Maschine version provides 15 projects and 15 groups, with 240 samples at 24-bit/44.1 kHz.

The kits are built to be tweaked and rearranged. Swapping elements between kits is a practical way to find new ideas when a session stalls, and the pack includes 60 bass samples, 68 hats and 38 snares, rims and claps for building custom drum patterns.

The WAV content adds 550 files at 24-bit/44.1 kHz, including 160 loops and music loops and 219 chord, riff and FX sounds, so the material can also be used outside Maschine.
