03In depth

Sound Palette and Kit Contents

The main kits combine processed drums, angular percussion, pads and chords with subsonic basses and ethereal FX. The developer describes the kits as created to make the most of onboard effects, compression and usability in both hosts.

The two special kits focus on bass and special FX samples meant for layering with the main kits. Across the collection there are 236 one-shots in total.

The developer states that each kit has subtle mix and FX customization so it stays balanced in a mix and works alongside other sounds in a track.

Patterns and Workflow in Maschine

Naked Techno includes 101 patterns, one set for each kit, showing how the sounds can be balanced and combined. They work as a starting point for a production rather than finished arrangements.

The collection requires Maschine. The full contents are listed as needing Maschine 1.8 or later, or Maschine 2.0 and later, and Ableton Live 9 or later for the Live version.
