Planet 808: Processed 808 Drum Preset Expansion by Niche Audio

Niche Audio says the kits were built from its own in-house Roland TR808, with each drum sound sampled multiple times in different tuning and decay settings. Each sample was processed in context using several processors to give every kit its own character.

The pack includes three untreated pure 808 kits for users who want the original sampled sound without processing. The remaining kits range from lightly to heavily processed, so you can choose a level of processing that suits your track.

The special kits contain re-tuned 808 toms, congas and kicks for sub bombs, basses and tribal melodies. The tuned percussion can be used for pseudo-melodies and percussive textures.

Switching these sounds to keyboard mode in Maschine lets you play pitched congas and toms as chords or melodies, or play a low tom as a sub bass line. The Ableton Live tip in the pack shows how to extract a drum rack chain into a simpler instance with the sound included.
