Sublime Techno is a Maschine and Ableton Live sound expansion from Niche Audio, built around techno kits, basses, percussion, synth hits, drones and FX sampled from analog hardware synths.
Sublime Techno is aimed at producers who want ready-made kits with a modern, punchy character. Niche Audio sampled the sounds from analog hardware synths, with only a small handful of digitally sourced sounds in the pack. The kits include kicks, basses, hi-hats, percussion, chords, drones and FX, plus starter projects and MIDI patterns you can edit or use as they are. The developer says the sounds suit any techno sub-genre and also work for House and other genres.
Niche Audio says the drum sounds in Sublime Techno come from sampled analog synths rather than drum machines or drum sample libraries. The developer describes the kicks and basses as punchy, with deep subs underneath, and the hi-hats as gliding across the top range.
The percussion elements can also be played melodically across a keyboard, which gives producers a way to use the same sounds for both rhythm and melodic parts.
For Maschine, the expansion includes 11 starter projects, 15 groups and 240 24/44.1 samples. Five of the groups cover kicks, percussion, chords and pads, drones and FX, and synth one-shots.
For Ableton Live, the pack includes 13 starter projects, 15 drum racks, 69 Simpler presets and the same 240 24/44.1 samples. Instrument racks are used for some of the chromatic sounds. MIDI patterns are included in both formats and can be edited to create new variations.
