Desolation Expansion (for REV) is a preset expansion pack from Output containing over 100 bold, dark and gritty presets for the REV synthesizer.
Desolation Expansion is a preset pack from the developer Output, designed to extend the REV library with more than 100 new sounds. The presets lean toward a bold, dark and gritty character, making the pack a fit for producers who want heavier, moodier textures inside REV. It is sold as an expansion for REV and requires that instrument to run.
The expansion adds over 100 presets to REV's existing library. According to the developer, the sounds are bold, dark and gritty, which points to aggressive timbres rather than clean, bright patches.
Because the pack is a collection of presets rather than a standalone instrument, you load each sound directly in REV and can edit it with REV's own controls.
The pack is best suited to producers already working in REV who want a darker palette without building every patch from scratch. Its gritty character makes it a natural starting point for dark electronic and cinematic styles.
If you need a standalone sound library or a different host synth, this expansion will not apply, since it is made specifically for REV.
