Creator Series: Soulful Trap is a preset and sample expansion from Niche Audio for Maschine and Ableton Live. It combines soulful R&B sounds with modern trap elements across 20 instrument-focused kits.
Creator Series: Soulful Trap is part of Niche Audio's Creator Series, a line of production packs designed for building tracks one instrument at a time. Rather than mixed kits, the collection is organized into banks for each element, such as drums, bass, chords and synths. Niche Audio says the sounds were selected and processed to suit the genre, with melodic samples tuned to a common key. The pack is aimed at producers working in R&B and trap.
Niche Audio describes Soulful Trap as a blend of smooth R&B tones with the more modern elements of trap. The collection covers authentic drum kits, deep booming bass, smooth chords and luxurious synths, according to the developer.
The samples were sourced from analog and digital gear, then processed with the host's built-in effects. The developer says melodic elements were tuned so they sit in the same musical key, which can make layering and arranging simpler.
The pack includes 20 kits, each with 16 sounds laid out in the standard 16-pad format. In Maschine, the sounds are organized into 21 groups. In Ableton Live, drum sounds are provided in 21 Drum Racks, and melodic instruments are placed in 112 Instrument Racks.
The collection contains 336 samples in 24-bit/44.1 kHz WAV format. Because the banks are split by instrument, you can pick a single bass or chord sound without working through a full mixed kit.
