01Overview

Caffeine is a preset collection from Applied Acoustics Systems built for Lounge Lizard EP-4. It follows Insomnia, the first Lounge Lizard sound pack, and was created by sound designer Daniel Stawczyk, also known as Status. The bank covers a range of sounds, including keys, leads, synths, growling organs, pads, splits, pulses and sound effects. Each preset uses Lounge Lizard's effect rack to shape its character.

03In depth

Sound Character and Preset Range

Caffeine keeps the familiar Lounge Lizard foundation and adds more unusual, experimental tones. The developer describes the presets as eclectic and full of peculiar textures.

The 105 presets span several categories. Electric pianos sit alongside leads, synth patches, organ tones, pads and effects, so the bank can supply sounds for most parts of a track.

Because the presets lean on Lounge Lizard's effect rack, many of them are built around processed, textured timbres rather than plain keyboard sounds.

Using Caffeine with Lounge Lizard EP-4 or AAS Player

Caffeine works in two ways. If Lounge Lizard EP-4 is installed on your computer, the sound bank is added to it automatically after installation.

If you do not own Lounge Lizard EP-4, you can play the presets through the free AAS Player plug-in or standalone application.

Caffeine is not compatible with Lounge Lizard Session, so check which instrument you are using before you buy.
