Insomnia Lounge Lizard EP-4 Sound Bank is a preset collection of 128 sounds for Applied Acoustics Systems' Lounge Lizard EP-4 instrument. It moves the instrument beyond electric piano into synths, organs, pads, bells, basses and leads.
Insomnia is designed for Lounge Lizard EP-4 users who want to hear the instrument used well outside its electric piano roots. Developed by Applied Acoustics Systems and created by sound designer Daniel Stawczyk, the bank includes 128 presets. The developer says the collection keeps the instrument's characteristic vibe while covering a broad range of tones, so producers working in different styles can find starting points beyond keys.
The bank spans a wide mix of sounds. Applied Acoustics Systems describes the collection as including eclectic synths, growling organs, lush pads, sparkling bells, deep basses and crazy leads.
These presets show what Lounge Lizard EP-4 can do when its sound engine is pushed past the standard electric piano role. Because the sounds come from a single instrument, they share a common feel, which can help a set of sounds sit together in one track.
Insomnia suits producers who already own Lounge Lizard EP-4 and want new sources without buying another instrument. It is also useful for anyone looking for presets that expand the instrument beyond keys.
Sound designer Daniel Stawczyk has worked with several software instrument developers and has released more than 30 sound sets, which adds context to the bank's origin.
