03In depth

Sounds and kit contents

Each of the 15 kits includes 16 sounds. Niche Audio describes the selection as kick drums, bass hits, synths and FX, all intended for Techno production.

The Maschine version contains 15 groups, 13 projects and 238 24/44.1 samples. The developer says the samples are mixed and processed with the host's built-in effects, so the kits are meant to be usable without extra processing.

The developer names labels including Drumcode, Soma, Elevate and Respekt as inspiration for the pack's sound.

Using the kits and MIDI patterns in Maschine

Each kit or project loads with MIDI patterns, which let you audition the sounds rhythmically before you change anything. You can keep the samples, effects, mix and patterns as they are, or edit any of them.

The Maschine content is organized as groups and projects, so you can start from a full project or from a single kit and build your own arrangement from there.

For Ableton Live users, the pack includes 13 projects and 15 drum racks with the same 238 samples at 24/44.1.
