01Overview

Prometheus is a preset bank for u-he's Repro-1 synth, developed by Resonance Sound. It combines 120 individual sounds with more than 65 sequences. Because the sequences and sounds are provided separately, you can pair any sequence with any sound or load the sequence presets as they are. The developer describes the bank as covering both vintage and modern sounds. Repro-1 is the host, so you need u-he Repro-1 version 1.1 to load the contents.

Sounds and Sequences for Repro-1

The sequence presets are built for monophonic lines, including baselines and arpeggios. Resonance Sound says the Repro-1 filters and oscillators suit these patterns well. The bank also includes cinematic sounds and some polyphonic pads, which the developer achieves through programming techniques.

Any sound can also be used with its sequencer switched off. In that mode you get plain patches for basses, leads, atmospheres and monophonic pads. Using the sounds and sequences separately gives you more ways to build new musical ideas from the same material.

Modulation, Effects and Browser Tagging

Many patches have Modwheel assignments, and velocity is applied where it makes sense. Reverb and chorus are used to emphasize atmospheric patches. Subtle distortion and EQ are applied to patches such as basses that benefit from a dry, powerful sound.

All 120 sounds are tagged for u-he's new browser system, so you can find them by category within the Repro-1 browser.
