01Overview

Transient Shaper is an effects plugin from Slate Digital built around transient control. Its Focus sliders let you pick the frequency ranges you want to process, and holding Shift switches them to bandpass processing. A Warmth knob adds saturation to transients, a Time knob sets how long the processed transient is, and a Listen button isolates either the transient or the tail so you can hear changes on their own. The plugin is also part of Virtual Mix Rack, Slate Digital's collection of digital mixing modules.

Frequency-Focused Transient Control

The Focus sliders are the core of Transient Shaper. Slide them to select the frequency ranges you want to process, so changes can be limited to specific parts of a sound instead of the whole signal.

Hold Shift while sliding to switch to bandpass processing. This narrows the processing to a band rather than a broad range, which is useful when you want to target one part of a sound.

The Listen button helps with precise adjustment. It isolates either the transient or the tail, letting you hear exactly what your changes are doing before you blend the result back in.

Warmth, Time and Mix Rack Integration

Warmth adds saturation to the transient, giving the attack a more colored character. Time sets the length of the transient being processed, so you can decide how much of the sound's front edge is affected.

Transient Shaper is integrated into Virtual Mix Rack, so it works alongside other Slate Digital modules within the same environment. Slate Digital describes Virtual Mix Rack as a collection of digital mixing modules and recreations of classic analog hardware.
