01Overview

This crossgrade version of SynthMaster One is aimed at users who already own SynthMaster Player. It shares its engine with the larger SynthMaster instrument but uses a simpler layout built around wavetable synthesis. Oscillators, filters, envelopes, LFOs and a 16-step sequencer/arpeggiator sit in a semi-modular structure, and the plugin ships with a large factory preset library. A free trial is available.

Wavetable Synthesis and Oscillator Design

SynthMaster One supports true wavetable synthesis, and you can import wave files containing wavetables by drag and drop. The plugin includes its own wavetable library, and additional wavetables can be placed in its Waveforms folder.

Each oscillator is stereo and offers up to 16 unison voices, with controls for voices, voices mix, detune curve, detune spread, pan spread, tone spread and phase spread. These parameters are used to build supersaw-style sounds. The basic oscillators cover sine, square, triangle, sawtooth, pulse, noise and single-cycle waveforms, with 17 algorithms per oscillator.

Filters, Effects and Modulation Structure

The filter section includes Ladder, Diode Ladder, State Variable and Bite types, all built on zero delay feedback technology. Input gain, drive and acid parameters are provided for shaping the filter response.

The semi-modular architecture offers 2 oscillators with 2 sub oscillators, 2 filters, 4 ADSR envelopes, 2 LFOs and a 16-step arpeggiator/sequencer. Six FX insert slots accept 11 effect types, including distortion, LoFi, ensemble, phaser, 6-band EQ, compressor, vocoder, delay, chorus, tremolo and reverb.
