01Overview

Space Replicator Essential is designed for mixing and checking music on headphones. It uses high-resolution virtual replicas of real rooms to recreate a more natural stereo field than typical headphone listening, which often sounds centered inside your head. Audio engineers, producers, DJs and composers can use it to hear how a mix may translate to the places where it will be played. It is available in VST3, AU and AAX formats on Windows and macOS, and it does not require iLok.

Virtual acoustic spaces for headphone mixing

LEWITT developed a process to capture real acoustic spaces and turn them into virtual acoustic spaces at very high resolution. Space Replicator Essential renders these spaces through a standardized binaural profile. The aim is a stereo image that sits in front of you rather than inside your head.

The plugin includes two professional mixing and mastering rooms: LEWITT Studio A, using Haigner custom speakers, and Vienna Synchron Stage Control B, using studio speakers. Both are meant for critical listening and longer sessions.

For translation checks, the included spaces cover a Watergate club main floor and DJ booth (with and without crowd), a car with stereo at four seating positions, and a kitchen with tablet and Bluetooth speakers.

Headphone compensation and consumer simulations

Space Replicator Essential works with headphones you already own. You select your model from more than 600 headphone compensation profiles, which correct for that headphone's frequency response before the room is applied.

The plugin also includes simulations of three popular consumer in-ear and over-ear headphones, so you can hear how a mix may sound on those models.

The Essential edition can be upgraded to the more powerful edition of Space Replicator at any time.
