01Overview

Space Replicator is built around high-resolution virtual acoustic spaces, which LEWITT captured from real rooms. Instead of simple EQ curves, the plugin aims to recreate how a space sounds, including its stereo field. The developer positions it for mixing decisions and for checking how a mix translates to the car, a club PA, a laptop or a TV soundbar. It is available as a VST3, AU and AAX plugin for Windows and macOS, and includes a trial.

Virtual Rooms for Headphone Mixing and Translation Checks

The rooms cover two main uses. The first is professional mixing and mastering rooms, including LEWITT studio A with a custom speaker system, LEWITT studio B with nearfield speakers, and two Vienna Synchron Stage Control rooms with farfield and midfield speakers. The second is translation checks in real listening environments such as a Watergate club PA and DJ booth, a car with four seating positions, a kitchen with tablet and Bluetooth speakers, a living room with different smartphone and laptop models, and a TV room with a TV speaker or soundbar.

Version 2.0 adds an ideal mixing room based on European Broadcasting Union standards and an analytic room with speakers suited to critical listening. Each room has its own EQ and adjustable ambience.

Headphone Compensation and Personalization

Space Replicator is designed to work with the headphones you already own. You choose a model from more than 600 headphone compensation profiles to correct its frequency response. The plugin also supports a personalized binaural profile, which you create inside the plugin through an algorithm-based training process.

A "Transparent" headphone simulation applies an ideal frequency response for mixing on headphones. The developer says it resulted from an expert-panel listening study. Five consumer in-ear and over-ear headphone simulations let you check how a mix may sound on popular listening devices. Version 2.0 adds simulations for the H-M50x, H-770 and H-7506, a balance slider for uneven hearing or headphones, and user presets.
