Sound and Recording Approach
Sounds of the Earth says the source instrument was handcrafted by Fernanda Paniagua with wooden beads. Traditional shekeres are made from gourds, but modern versions are often built from fiberglass because gourd cultivation is scarce. The developer notes that the shekere is louder than most small percussion instruments, which gives the recorded sound a strong, present attack.
The library offers 8 Kontakt microphone options, so you can choose the perspective that suits your mix. Because the samples are split across 834 Kontakt files, you can play the instrument across a range of articulations and performance styles.
