AMA I Woodwinds Bundle: Amazonian Woodwind Instruments for Kontakt

The library is divided into two groups. The low woodwinds include instruments such as the Buzina de Bambu, a bamboo wind instrument used in rituals, and the Buzina de Motor, which imitates the horns of boats travelling down the Black River. The Cancão was built from a gourd and a small balloon piece to mimic the call of a rainforest bird.

The high woodwinds cover a wider range of flutes and mawakos. The library includes a double flute, the Flauta Dupla, and several instruments played by women and men from the Dessana tribe, as well as the Yapurutu, a PVC-based instrument with no holes along its body, played by varying breath intensity.

Each instrument was recorded with three to five microphones. Closer positions capture more detail and definition in the attack and articulation, while more distant positions provide an ambient and softer character. Blending the microphone positions lets you shape the balance between clarity and space within your mix.

The interface is described as clean, giving quick access to the controls needed during composition.
