Sound and Source Recording
Sallik takes its sound from a single acoustic source: a vara rajada, the split-branch percussion instrument shaped from a balsa branch. The developer says the example used in the recording was made in Costa Rica by Daniel Mora.
Because the sounds come from a natural wooden body, the instrument suits producers looking for organic, handmade percussion rather than synthetic hits. The eight Kontakt microphone options let you shift the character of the recording, from close and direct to more distant and spacious, within the same instrument.
