Sound and Character of the Double Whistle
The whistle is built around two air channels. Because each channel produces a slightly different tone, playing both at once creates binaural beats, a pulsing effect that comes from the small difference in pitch between the two notes. The developer describes this as a rich sonic diversity that evokes the many sounds found in nature.
The instrument can also be played one note at a time, so the same sample set covers both sustained dual-tone textures and single-note melodic lines.
