Four Grand Pianos and Their Microphone Setup
The bundle includes samples from the Bechstein D-280, Steinway D, Bösendorfer 290 and Yamaha C7. The recordings were made in a specially prepared piano room using vintage Neumann microphones, Meitner AD converters and a classic 8078 Neve console. Close microphone recordings were engineered by Ken Scott, whose credits include work with Elton John, Supertramp, David Bowie and The Beatles.
Each piano offers three mic positions that you can blend to change the detail and stereo image. Because the library uses the same impulse responses as EastWest's Symphonic Orchestra and Symphonic Choirs, the piano can sit alongside those libraries with a consistent acoustic space.
