PEACH: Polymetric MIDI Arpeggiator by 510k

Rated 4.7/5 on Plugin Boutique (88 ratings)

PEACH is a polymetric MIDI arpeggiator plugin from 510k, available as AU, VST and VST3. Each of its lanes runs at its own step length, so arpeggios keep shifting rather than repeating in a fixed cycle.

01Overview

PEACH is a MIDI effect that turns held chords into arpeggios built from separate lanes for gate, hold, octave, velocity and MIDI CC. Because each lane has its own step count, the lanes drift against one another and the pattern evolves over time. Scale quantization, randomization and up to 12 stored patterns per preset make it suited to sketching ideas and changing patterns during performance. It produces no sound itself and needs a software or hardware instrument to play.

Polymetric Lanes and Note Control

Most arpeggiators cycle through notes in a single fixed loop. PEACH splits its control into lanes for Gate, Hold, Octave, Velocity and MIDI CC, and each lane has its own step count. When the lane lengths differ, the interplay between them keeps changing, which produces the evolving, polymetric patterns that give the plugin its character.

Global settings cover note order, latch, octave range, gate length, swing and step advance modes. Scale Quantize lets you snap notes to factory or custom scales, or leave the output chromatic for free exploration.

Performance, Automation and Workflow

Dice buttons and step-locking add variation while keeping control in your hands. You can store up to 12 patterns per preset and switch between them via MIDI, which suits live performance. Host-visible parameters can be mapped to a controller or automated in your DAW.

The MIDI CC lanes can sequence up to three assignable parameters, such as filter cutoff, decay or resonance. Undo and redo, preset management and scalable lanes support a steady workflow when sketching ideas in a session.

05FAQ

Questions, answered

Is PEACH a synth or a sound generator?

No. PEACH is a MIDI effect that generates note and control data only. It requires a software or hardware instrument to produce sound.

What formats and operating systems does PEACH support?

PEACH is available in AU, VST and VST3 formats. It runs on macOS 10.14 or later and Windows 10 or later.

Which DAWs work with PEACH?

The developer says it works with all major DAWs, including Ableton Live, Logic Pro, Bitwig, Cubase, Studio One, FL Studio and Reaper.

What do I need to use PEACH?

You need a host DAW and a software or hardware instrument to play the MIDI output. PEACH itself does not make sound.
