Sound Character and Sample Content

Orakle X is built around recordings of rare instruments, sampled with attention to their resonances. MNTRA Instruments says the performances focus on extended techniques that bring out each instrument's distinctive character. The library covers wind sounds such as tin whistle, quena, Rajasthani tin flute and Tibetan horns, along with voice, bowed and plucked strings, a broad percussion set, and bowed effects like bowed cymbal and spring bell.

The instrument includes 51 sample maps, with up to 59 round robins per sample. Sample maps range from sustained and dynamic layers to short hits and flutters, giving a wide palette for both melodic and rhythmic writing.

Workflow, Sound Design and Performance

Orakle X includes the MNDALA Sound Design Engine, which the developer says is built for reshaping recorded instruments into new sounds. The included presets use three-axis real-time parameter controls, and the Perform View interface lets you map a MIDI controller to the XYZ performance macros.

The instrument is also described as CPU efficient for in-DAW playback and quick to load presets. The download, installation and updates are handled through the Pulse Downloader.
