Sound Sources and Character
Caprakan is organized around its sample maps. Each map offers multiple layers, with up to three dynamic layers and up to 18 round robins, which helps repeated hits and phrases avoid sounding mechanical.
The instrument is recorded with up to four microphone channels: Close, Far, Vintage and Resonant. Mixing between these positions lets you move from an intimate, detailed tone to a more spacious or colored one.
Resonant and noise-like sources make it useful as a foundation for texture and atmosphere, not only for rhythmic parts.
