Octaver 82 recreates the sound of a classic early-1980s monophonic octaver pedal in software. It layers pitched-down tones one and two octaves beneath the original signal, which can thicken guitars, basses and other single-note sources. Because the effect is monophonic, it tracks one note at a time, so chords come out scrambled. Audiority also modified the original circuit, adding overdrive, envelope filtering and synth-like tones to the mix.
