Sound Design With Three Resonators and an Exciter
At the core of Objekt are three resonating objects. Each one can be shaped in depth to create a string, a bell, a membrane or something without an acoustic equivalent. The Exciter section sets these resonators in motion, from the short impact of a stick to a wash of noise. Because the sound is generated in real time rather than played back from samples, every parameter change affects the result directly.
The Exciter is also the main way to play the instrument expressively. Changes in how the excitation is triggered and shaped alter the attack, body and decay of a sound, which makes Objekt suited to melodic and rhythmic performance alike.
Reason Studios describes the instrument as open-ended, meaning you work with the modeled properties rather than choosing between finished presets.
