Granular Textures and Layered Sound Design

Nordic Spheres combines musical instruments with sound effects in a granular engine. The two upper layers use Sonuscore's Grain Engines, where density controls thickness, the starting position changes how the grains are heard, and timing can smear or shatter the sound.

The lower layers use two traditional sample engines. Across all layers you can choose from tonal sounds, tonal effects, non-tonal effects, looping sounds, hits, particles and sustains, which makes the instrument suited to both sound design and musical writing.

Arpeggiators, Effects and Motion Control

Each of the four layers has its own arpeggiator or LFO, along with its own ADSR and FX options, including EQ, saturation, chorus and tremolo. This lets you build intricate rhythmic patterns that move through the sonic spectrum.

The FX in each grid can be tied to the mod wheel through the Motion options. Sonuscore says this lets you change the timbre dramatically during playback, and the included presets show the range of changes available.
