01Overview

Model T recreates a late-'70s and '80s electromechanical piano using spectral modeling rather than samples. The developer describes the original as one of the simplest and most affordable electric pianos of its era. Its reed-based voice is warm and bell-like with a darker character, and the mechanical noises of the instrument are a prominent part of the sound. The plugin ships as VST3, VST2, AU and standalone builds and needs no sample library, so it installs at about 30MB.

Sound, Character and Controls

Model T is built around the reed voice of its original instrument. The sound is warm and bell-like, with a darker tone than many electric pianos. Sampleson models the mechanical noises of the keys as well, which remain audible across the playing range.

The instrument includes Drive and Reverb effects and a sustain activation option. Release behavior, mechanical noise and velocity response can all be adjusted. Because the instrument is not sample-based, there is no layer switching, and the velocity curve is described as smooth.

Workflow and Compatibility

Model T loads as a plugin into major DAWs, including Cubase, Logic Pro, GarageBand, Cakewalk, Reaper, Bitwig, Nuendo and FL Studio. It does not need Kontakt, UVI or any other third-party player, and no library installation is required.

Activation is online, and Pro Tools is not supported. Plan for a VSTi or AU plugin host on macOS, or a 64-bit VST3 host on Windows.
