Melody Sauce 3: Melody and Chord Generator Plugin by EVAbeat

Each generator pad creates a new melody, typically eight bars long, along with matching chords and bass. EVAbeat says the generative algorithms produce more natural, flowing melodic lines than earlier versions. The plugin can also generate chord progressions across nine genres, with over 1,000 progressions available, and you can edit them and choose from more than 140 chord and bass rhythms.

You can also import your own MIDI chord file. The plugin detects the chords and key, then builds melodies to fit them. Movement and Chord Fit controls set whether melodies move smoothly or leap between phrases, and how closely they follow the underlying chords.

Melodies can be adjusted in the piano roll, which has an expanded view and more editing tools, or with the plugin's section controls to change parts of a sequence separately. Phrase lock keeps part of a melody and generates a new one around it, and chord and sound locking carries across styles.

Version 3.1 lets you load your own synth or instrument plugins into the melody, chord and bass layers so they play through them. Chord voicings offer more than 100 options, from simple two-note chords to wide spreads. The plugin also includes more than 300 internal sounds and 300 style presets, plus a style randomizer for quick ideas. Audio export renders WAV stems, with an optional tail.
