01Overview

MegaMod is designed to work with plugins you already own. Its modulation panel attaches to the bottom of a third-party plugin, resizing to match it, so the parameters of that plugin can be controlled by modulators without switching windows. Sync Audio positions it as a way to reduce reliance on automation lanes. The panel includes an LFO, Randomizer, Envelope Follower, XY Pad, Macro Knob, MIDI Macro and Preset Blender, and the developer says more modulators are planned for future updates.

Modulating Any Plugin Parameter

MegaMod hosts the plugin it is attached to and exposes that plugin's parameters for modulation. Sync Audio says users can assign LFOs to pitch or drive macro knobs to morph an entire EQ curve.

Because the modulators sit in the same interface as the effect, you can see which modulator controls which parameter. The developer describes the modulators as fast, flexible and rearrangeable, which suits everything from subtle movement to larger, evolving changes.

Workflow Inside Your DAW

MegaMod is intended for use in any DAW and aims to reduce the need for complex automation lanes. Sync Audio gives examples such as adding envelope-controlled saturation to drums with a saturator you already use, or building evolving filters with an EQ and LFO.

In Pro Tools, the developer says every AudioSuite plugin can render clips using envelope-controlled parameters, which lets you apply modulation to offline processing as well.
