Sound and Character of the Marimbula
The marimbula sits between percussion and melody. Each metal plate produces a low, pitched note when plucked, so the instrument can carry a rhythmic pulse and a bassline at the same time. Sounds of the Earth describes the instrument as a wooden lamellophone, and the library captures its low register and resonant body.
The 140 Kontakt sample files give you the individual notes to play, while the 11 audio files add further material. Because the instrument is tied to its wooden box, its tone is warm and grounded rather than synthetic.
