Igniter is built around vehicles, from everyday cars and motorbikes to helicopters, drones and spacecraft. Each vehicle can be played and automated in real time, so sound effects can be matched to picture as you work. The plugin combines Granular, Synth, One Shot and Loop modules, letting you build a hybrid engine sound and adjust its length or type within a complex scene.

Performing Vehicle Sound Effects in Your DAW

Igniter includes 24 performable vehicles, and the developer lists examples such as the Ford F150, Harley Davidson and Audi R8. You can play a vehicle via MIDI or sketch its revs, acceleration and brakes with a mouse or MIDI controller.

Mix and automate between engine and exhaust perspectives for each vehicle. A built-in Convolution Reverb switches between interior and exterior perspectives, and you can load your own Impulse Responses through drag and drop.

Loop sequencing on a timeline lets a vehicle move across different surfaces or wind speeds, or drive loop-based systems built from static rev band recordings.

Vehicle Movement, Pass-Bys and Sci-Fi Sounds

For pass-bys, you can add a Doppler effect to any preset and perform a vehicle moving through a space. Movements can be saved and recalled for later adjustments, or stored as presets for other projects.

The One Shot tab holds samplers for sweeteners such as car doors, windows, wipers and interiors, which helps build full vehicle scenes. The package also includes aerial effects for helicopters and drones, and the Synth tab can be used for spaceships and futuristic textures.
