Vintage Sound Character and Processing
EastWest Sounds says the instruments were recorded in its Studio 1, then sent through analog tape machines, including a tube Studer J37, to add tape saturation and harmonic distortion. The sounds were also re-amped in Studio 2 using multiple microphone positions, blending the studio room sound with the direct signal.
The developer describes this approach as a way to get an alternative, modern take on classic synth tones rather than a purely period-accurate one.
