01Overview

Galactic Reverb is an effects plugin from Cherry Audio, built around a reverb algorithm based on the one in the developer's Dreamsynth virtual instrument. The developer describes it as capturing the expansive sound of classic hardware digital reverbs. It works as an insert or bus effect and accepts mono or stereo sources, so it can be used on drums, guitars, keys and vocals. Its ducking function reduces reverb level while a source is playing, which helps with mix clarity.

Sound Character and Core Reverb Controls

Galactic Reverb is built around an authentically modeled classic reverb. Decay runs from 0.00 ms to 35000 ms, so it can produce very long tails. Pre-delay ranges from 0.00 ms to 500 ms, which lets you separate the dry signal from the reverb onset. A damping control shapes the reverb tail.

Modulation runs from 0.10 Hz to 5.00 Hz, adding movement to the reverb. An equalizer with low and high frequency controls lets you shape the reverb's tone.

Ducking, Routing and Automation

The ducking section has attenuation and recovery time controls. It lowers reverb level while a source is playing, so the reverb can sit behind a vocal or instrument without an external sidechain. The developer notes that ducking can also switch between very dry sound and large reverb tails.

Galactic Reverb can be used as an insert or bus effect and handles mono or stereo input. All controls support full MIDI control and DAW automation, and you can set MIDI mapping at the preset or global level. Themes are user-selectable.

Presets and Library

The preset browser includes over 50 presets for drums, ducking, guitars, keys and vocals. It also supports favoriting and user presets, so you can save your own settings alongside the factory library.

05FAQ

Questions, answered

What formats does Galactic Reverb support?

Galactic Reverb is available in VST3, VST2, AU, AAX and Standalone formats.
