Sound and Character of the BBD Flanger
The plugin is based on a BBD analog flanger design, using the Reticon SAD1024 chip that the developer identifies as the core of the original pedal. Audiority says the Deluxe models use a different LFO and VCO circuit than the classic version, giving them a wider range of settings, and Electric Matter carries that wider range over.
The Color, Range and Rate controls shape the flanging motion, from gentle movement on leads to the more pronounced swirl used to suggest a Leslie rotor. Pre and Post Effect Gain and the Mix control let you balance the processed signal against the dry sound.
